After many years of using and recommending AVG, I no longer do either.
In my opinion, a good anti-virus program is one I never hear from unless there's a problem. AVG is no longer such a program.
AVG fell into the same trap as Norton and McAffee- in order to prove their worth, they added more and more features to their program and made themselves more visible to the user.
Starting with AVG version 7, they began doing things like modifying your Google search results to tell you everything is OK.
I now use and recommend either Avast or Microsft Security Essentials for your free anti-virus needs.
